Career
Introduction
The next section is Careers - which determines your Skill and Reputation in a particular vocation you have undertaken.
- You start with 6 points to assign between careers. You gain more as life goes on.
- Career goes up to 7. But you can assign between 1 to 5 yourself.
An example career for a starter character:
- Hunter: 4 (0)
- Musician: 2 (0)
Which means you’ve assigned 4 points to being a Hunter and 2 points to being a Musician. If your GM needs you to track down an animal, or play music, the career will come in useful. You gain more career points. The bracket also shows whether you’ve gained points from your character’s experience - It can be given to you in quests. The brackets are for extra points given to you as a reward after a quest.
Reputation Scale
The following table give you an idea of what your career point means:
The reputation scale as three aspects to it- Regional Renown, Municipal Distinction, and Cliental
- Regional Renown determines how widespread your name is amongst people in the know about your profession, if it is a profession that you will be well known for.
- Municipal Distinction determines how much your name stands out even in large population centres where there is a higher concentration of renowned figures.
- For example, an Expert may not be distinctive in the capital where Masters might congregate, but in a more modest city may be one of the foremost figures in the field amongst the local population.
- Cliential determines the kind of figures that will respect the skills you possess, and possibly become your clients.
